Canva Team Onboarding Checklist for Smooth Client Delivery
Apr 16, 2026 · 7 min read · By Canva Pro Team
Most Canva projects do not fail because of design skill. They fail because the onboarding is unclear. When the first 30 minutes are structured well, delivery becomes faster and feedback quality improves.
Step 1: Align goals before opening templates
Before any design work starts, confirm campaign goal, audience, offer, and format. A small kickoff checklist saves hours later because everyone starts with the same definition of success.
- Define one primary goal for this design batch.
- Collect brand colors, fonts, and approved logos in one folder.
- Confirm final export sizes for each channel before designing.
Step 2: Build one approval-ready base layout
Instead of creating many versions immediately, create one high-quality base layout first. Once it is approved, derive size variants and campaign adaptations from the same structure.
Step 3: Use a feedback format the team can scan quickly
Ask reviewers to provide feedback in a standard format: what to keep, what to change, and why. This avoids vague comments and helps you close revisions in fewer rounds.
